Is VibeFree really free?
Yes. VibeFree is free AI chat with no subscription, no credit card, and no trial period that expires. Every account gets full access to chat, code, and build with AI at zero cost, funded by short, labelled ads shown while a reply is written and beside it, instead of a monthly bill.
- No subscription and no credit card required to sign up.
- The web chat lets you pick between two AI models - DeepSeek V4.1 Flash (the default) or gpt-oss-20b.
- The VS Code extension offers the same two models, from a picker in the chat panel.
- Ad revenue, not a monthly bill, is what pays for the AI usage behind every conversation - see how VibeFree stays ad-funded.
What "free" covers, precisely
Every feature, with no usage quota on the paid model. There is no pro tier holding anything back, because there is no pro tier: the chat, the artifacts, the memory, the MCP connections, the VS Code extension, VibeDesign and Remote Control are the product, and all of them are what you get for nothing.
- No trial clock. Nothing expires after 14 days and nothing asks for a card at the end of a month.
- No message cap on the paid model. DeepSeek V4.1 Flash runs for as long as advertising - or VibeBucks you have earned - is paying for it.
- A floor underneath it. When no advertiser can pay for a turn, VibeBucks you have earned can pay instead, on either model; without them you move to gpt-oss-20b and a free daily token allowance rather than being told to come back tomorrow. You are told on screen when that happens and why.
- Nothing sold on. VibeFree does not sell your data, and the ad networks it uses only ever receive what the Cookie Policy lists, only if you consent.
So what does it cost you instead?
Attention, and a decision. A short sponsored card appears on the loading screen and beside replies, not inside the answer the model writes - with one exception you have to opt into: if you allow external ad networks, one of them can ask the AI to mention a sponsor in its answer, always marked as sponsored. Separately, you are asked once whether external ad networks may be used; saying yes means the conversation is sent to them so the ad can be relevant, and saying no costs you no feature and no model. The Cookie Policy sets out exactly what each network receives, and how VibeFree stays ad-funded explains the funding order behind it.
This is not a free tier
A free tier is the shallow end of a paid product: it exists to be outgrown, and its limits are set by how quickly the vendor wants you to upgrade. There is nothing here to upgrade to, so nothing is tuned to make you want to. If the question behind yours is really "what happens when I use it a lot", the answer is that you keep using it - see a no-subscription LLM for how that differs from the free tiers of the tools you are probably comparing it against.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a paid VibeFree tier?
No. VibeFree has no paid subscription - every feature is free, funded by ads instead of a monthly bill.
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No. Creating a VibeFree account and starting a chat never asks for payment details.
What's the difference between VibeFree web chat and the VS Code extension?
Both let you pick between the same two AI models - DeepSeek V4.1 Flash (the default) or gpt-oss-20b - from a picker in the chat panel. The extension gained that picker in version 1.1.0; before then it was DeepSeek only. Both surfaces are free and ad-funded.
