Developer ads with no minimum spend
None of the established developer ad networks publishes a minimum below $1,000. VibeFree's minimum is one block - 1,000 verified views of the text loader unit, £1.99 - bought by card, with no contract and no sales call.
What the minimums actually are
| Network | Minimum to start a campaign |
|---|---|
| VibeFree | £1.99 - one block of 1,000 verified views |
| EthicalAds | $1,000 minimum ad buy |
| Carbon Ads | 1,000,000 impressions per month recommended, prepaid |
| daily.dev Ads | A monthly plan quoted per company, on an agreed term |
| Stack Overflow | $15,000 for one month or $10,000 for three months, per its advertising policy |
Competitor figures come from each network's own pricing, media-kit or policy pages, checked on 22 October 2026; where a network does not publish a rate, the table says so rather than quoting an estimate. VibeFree's minimum bid per block is an editable guardrail that adjusts with demand for each placement - the figures here are read from the live setting, and the campaign console enforces whatever it currently is. Rates change - verify current pricing directly with each network before deciding.
Running the smallest campaign there is
- Sign in with any VibeFree account and open an advertiser organisation - no card needed, and the sandbox is free from the start.
- Verify your domain. If your sign-in email is at your company's domain, that happens automatically.
- Create a campaign with one ad group: the text loader format, priced per 1,000 views, from £1.99 a block (£12.99 for the end-of-response text unit).
- Write the creative - company name, one line of up to 60 characters, a landing URL and an optional brand icon - and tick the surfaces it should run on: Web app, VS Code extension, Mobile app and Windows desktop app, at no extra cost per surface.
- Buy one block and check out through Stripe. The card is held, not charged, until a person approves the campaign; a rejection releases it.
- Once live, watch views, clicks and spend in the console - and cancel yourself at any time for the unspent share back.
One block, whatever the format
Every format sells the same way: one block of its own billing unit is the minimum. A block is 1,000 views for CPM, 100 clicks for CPC, 1,000 completed views for video, 100 engagements for a poll or embed, 10 completions for a lead or install, and one day for a takeover. The text loader unit has the lowest published minimum; each other format's minimum bid is shown as you build the ad group, and the format and specs page lists them all.
Why no minimum matters more than the CPM
A $1,000 minimum is not a price, it is a gate: it decides who is allowed to find out whether an audience converts. Buying one block turns that decision into an experiment you can run this afternoon - and the sandbox lets you preview it in every app before you pay anything. The full price comparison shows what the same test would cost everywhere else.
Frequently asked questions
Is there really no minimum spend?
Yes. One block is the smallest purchase. The cheapest text block - 1,000 verified views of the loader unit - is £1.99, and £12.99 at the end of a response. There is no monthly floor, no annual commitment, and no insertion order.
What does the smallest possible campaign get me?
£1.99 buys 1,000 verified views of a one-line text ad with your brand icon, on whichever VibeFree surfaces you pick, with views, clicks and spend reported daily in the console. Other formats sell in blocks of their own unit - 100 clicks, 1,000 completed video views, 10 completions - so their smallest buy is one of those.
Do I have to talk to anyone to start?
No. Sign in with any VibeFree account, open an organisation, verify your domain, build the campaign, and pay by card through Stripe. The card is only held until a person approves the campaign, and released if it is rejected.
Can I stop or scale a campaign afterwards?
Both, yourself. Add reach by buying more blocks at your own bid rather than renegotiating a rate. Cancel from the console at any time: serving stops at once, and the unspent share of what you paid goes back to your card, or to account credit if you prefer.
